Balancing sustainability and performance

The Nastrotex-Cufra 2026-2027 collection, showcased at Lineapelle, highlights the company’s commitment to the research and development of new materials and the ongoing expansion of its quality and compliance standards

Nastrotex-Cufra returned to Lineapelle with a collection born from a meticulous analysis of the needs within both the fashion and technical-sport sectors, driven by a continuous convergence of aesthetics and functionality. The goal is to provide professionals in the footwear and apparel industry, especially those focused on cycling gear and intimate wear, with innovative elastic tapes engineered for comfort, durability, peak safety, and high performance. These tapes are further distinguished by a touch of style and creativity, which is both an added value and a critical competitive advantage. A strong manufacturing heritage, material research, and updated production techniques inform every product, each developed through consistent dialogue with the client. “We begin with our foundational product, 3895,” states Rebecca Cucchi, Head of Marketing and Communication and third generation of the family business. “It’s a must-have in the footwear world, produced in countless colors and widths. We then enhance it with ever-evolving processes, Lurex, lamination, hot printing like sublimation, stud and rhinestone application, and Jacquard embroidery, to name a few. This is all executed through a flexible, certified production process capable of adhering to increasingly detailed and rigorous regulations.” In addition to their GRS®-certified articles, made from traceable, recycled materials, the company has introduced products bearing the FSC® trademark. “We are in the process of achieving FSC® certification not just for viscose, but also for natural rubber,” Ms. Cucchi continues. “This accomplishment guarantees that our raw materials are sourced from responsibly managed origins, ensuring environmental and social sustainability across the entire supply chain. This is a significant milestone for a company like ours that partners with top global brands and exports worldwide.” Nastrotex- Cufra’s unwavering focus on sustainability is most prominently demonstrated by its long-standing practice of exclusively producing yarn-dyed elastic tapes. “This is a responsible choice, not merely a technical detail,” explains Rebecca Cucchi. “With yarn dyeing, each filament is colored deeply before weaving. The pigment fully saturates the fiber, resulting in colors that are more vibrant, stable, and resistant over time. The sustainability benefits are clear: superior product longevity, savings in energy and water, reduced wastewater emissions, and optimized use of colorants.” Among the latest research breakthroughs is the introduction of elastic tapes made with VIFLO® yarn. This innovative fiber is designed for sportswear and high-performance applications, offering measurable benefits to athletes and end-users: it enhances performance, minimizes fatigue, and accelerates recovery, all while boosting hydration and oxygenation. GRS® certified, low-volume, and ultra-lightweight, VIFLO® fiber truly bridges the gap between sustainability and wellness. “Sixty percent of our collaboration is with the sports sector, particularly cycling,” concludes Rebecca Cucchi. “We offer great flexibility in customization, and keeping large stock quantities of our full color range readily available in our warehouse allows us to fulfill customer requests promptly and meet all pre- established delivery schedules.”
