CallagHan Spanish brand, that attended the latest edition of Micam, keeps carrying on its differentiation strategy by providing a product featuring topnotch performances and unparalleled comfort. The foundation, in 1987, of the CallagHan brand was a true turning point for the Hergar Group, the latter established in 1968. The renowned firm specialized in comfort footwear, yet with a keen eye for design and aesthetic care, guarantees a unique walking experience, by combining the most advanced processing techniques with craft tradition. Basilio García Morón, CallagHan’s CEO, talked more in detail about an international, groundbreaking patent that allows to manufacture added-value shoes.
What are the results achieved by the brand internationally? CallagHan was born with a clear international vocation and an identity based on technology and design. Europe is our main market, with a special mention for Italy, where we have more than 800 points of sale.
Nowadays, CallagHan is a leading brand specialized in comfort. What are its distinctive traits (for instance, the patented Adaptation technology) compared to other competitors? The Adaptaction technology is not just a patent, it is a commitment to constantly evolve, in order to offer the best possible shoes to our customers, shoes that adapt to their feet. Being manufacturers allows us to develop new outsole materials, molds as well as innovative manufacturing techniques, leathers and designs, so as to be better every season.
The world has changed; the same can be said about the customers’ needs and priorities. What is your reference target? CallagHan blends technology with craftsmanship and comfort with design. With these values in mind, CallagHan shoes are made for walking, to provide customers with a unique walking experience by creating the best possible casual shoes that will help them be more active and healthy. Our target customer is very wide as we are always looking for new ways to create shoes with added value, with differentiated qualities and first-rate performances.
The research and development of new technologies and materials have resulted in a wider margin for growth and creativity. What are the challenges laying in store for CallagHan? The main challenges are three: to continue being interesting for customers, to be present in places where there is a demand for our shoes and to build a worldwide distribution structure. www.callaghan.es
