The story of Danese’s belts for staking machines began in 1992 within Arzignano’s renowned leather tanning district. It was then that Maurizio and Lucia started handcrafting their initial elastic fabric belts for leather staking. At the time, a handful of international players dominated the market, making the decision to develop a specialized product entirely “made in Arzignano” both a bold and essential move. Luigi Danese, a consultant and pivotal figure in the early experimentation phase, instilled a strong technical focus into the project. He pioneered the introduction of hot vulcanized rubber splices, drawing inspiration from tire repair techniques, a truly innovative concept for that era.
During those formative years, advanced materials like Kevlar and Teflon were also rigorously tested in the pursuit of an optimal balance between flexibility, durability, and ease of assembly. This relentless drive for innovation laid the groundwork for the belt line that now enjoys global recognition. Today, the Danese belts division, under the skilled and dedicated leadership of Matteo and Elena, produces approximately a thousand belts annually.
