An exciting year for Officina Idraulica M.G., based in Castelfranco di Sotto (Pisa), that increased its turnover and acquired new important customers both in the tanneries of the Santa Croce district and in the main chemical companies. Our journalists met two leading chemical multinationals in Santa Croce who carry out an intense research and sampling activity. The laboratory manager told us: “We work for the high fashion world, an extremely demanding sector, we have decided to progressively replace the laboratory drums with those made by MG because they are of top quality and boast exceptionally high productivity. We are able to manage a series of 8 drums in a 24h continuous cycle with a single operator who controls and at the same time takes care of other applications. We started with 4 drums and then doubled them in a very short time.”
“Over the years, – explains Enrico Marcucci – leather processing in our district has become increasingly complex, driven by an ever-growing fashion market. By constantly following the evolution of the market and transforming the requests of our customers into experience, we have become a reference in the field. The market was relying on systems that were essentially the same for over 50 years, so we figured out that we could develop technologies with exceptionally higher efficiencies. We wanted to look outside the box of habits and after intense R&D activities we conceived cutting-edge products. We use only certified materials, with the utmost respect for the environment that guarantee reliability, durability and reduced maintenance costs. We boast process qualifications UNI EN ISO 15614-1, TIG and electrode welder qualifications regarding UNI EN ISO 9606-1 both for carbon steel group 1 and for stainless steel group 8, duplex and super duplex, in EN and ASME IX and a theoretical training complying with UNI EN ISO 1090-1. Another strength is customization, as we’re able to supply any product according to the specific requests of the customer.”
A story that comes from afar: MG was founded in 1976 by the Marcucci family, that throughout 46 years has been able, with dedication and passion, to improve and grow, until becoming one of the reference companies in the production of drums, strictly in stainless steel, for the tanning and chemical sector.
One of the innovations, which has allowed the company to establish itself on the international market, are a new generation of drums with a 304 stainless steel structure and a thermally insulated 316L stainless steel basket: this solution, which represents some of our patents is innovative and unique and guarantees a significant improvement in performance along with a great reduction in terms of energy consumption. The system also features a stainless-steel collection tank for draining the wastewater and a transparent side panel to make a visual inspection of the processing. “This machine – concludes Enrico Marcucci – is made in seven models, from the smallest to the largest, which are, as regards the MG drums, the A600, the B800, the C1000, the D1200 and the G1400; the stainless-steel drums come instead in the E1400 and F1400 versions. The series will have to be expanded in the future, in recent years we have made constant improvements, until these instruments become almost unbeatable on the market.”
