Main Group, a sustainable future at your feet

Main Group Technologies’ Thermoplastic Revolution

Main Group is cementing its position as a strategic force in the evolving footwear industry. The company operates not just as a machinery provider, but as a technological pioneer, fundamentally redefining the balance between production, performance and environmental impact. By working hand-in-hand with raw material producers, Main Group is developing custom-engineered solutions that maximize the potential of new-generation materials, driving the sector toward unmatched standards of sustainability and efficiency.
The new Aurora machine, still top secret, is the linchpin of this breakthrough: a new cutting-edge plant capable of processing both Infinergy® Revolution and TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) at a supercritical level, a material that responds to market demands for fully circular solutions. “The introduction of Super Critical technology represents a paradigm shift,” says Mariano Bonato, President of Main Group. “Performance in terms of rebound and durability is comparable to, or even exceeds, that of EVA. However, the real game-changing advantage is the thermoplastic’s 100% recyclability, a crucial factor that directly responds to the escalating global demand for circularity.”
In parallel, Main Group is reinforcing its dominance in two-color thermoplastic production with the Sirius 4 system. This machine doesn’t just handle the co-injection of compact and expanded TPU; it sets new production efficiency benchmarks. “Sirius 4 guarantees an output of roughly 90 pairs per hour in two-color molding,” explains Bonato. “This speed, combined with a 150-ton clamping force in a multi-color thermoplastic environment, positions us as the industry leader for optimizing our customers’ TCO (Total Cost of Ownership).” The machine’s versatile installation requirements also make it a strategic advantage for manufacturing plants spread across various locations.
Equally significant is Main Group’s commitment to automation and quality control, a critical focus for the luxury segment. Automation tools, such as the Sigma 300 T gluing machine and the integrated Quality Control system, underscore the company’s dedication to high-level precision. “High-fashion brands demand nothing less than impeccable quality standards; our control and automation solutions are engineered to eliminate every potential flaw, meeting the exacting requirements of our high-end clientele,” concludes Bonato. Main Group’s innovation is an integrated ecosystem that successfully balances product performance, process efficiency, and environmental sustainability.
