Pajusco Tecnologie, automation is their ace in the hole

At September’s Simac Tanning Tech fair in Milan Pajusco Tecnologie showcased its key technological innovations launched throughout 2024 at their impressive stand

“At the Milan fair, we exhibited and presented all of our major automation advancements launched during 2024, generating significant interest and curiosity among both Italian and foreign operators,” remarked Olimpio Storti. Storti, who owns the family business along with his brothers, explained the strategy chosen by Pajusco Tecnologie for this year’s edition of the fair. Located in Montebello Vicentino, within the renowned Arzignano leather district, Pajusco has been producing cutting-edge systems for the tanning sector for over 60 years, specializing in automation and drums with related accessories. “Unlike previous editions,” Storti affirmed, “we didn’t exhibit any drums or other machinery at our stand. Instead, we dedicated the space to highlighting all our latest advancements in automation, where we are undoubtedly ahead of many competitors. In recent years, we’ve taken giant strides with technological innovation and we were pleased to provide detailed explanations to visitors. Our innovative booth design, meticulously planned over the summer, featured panels, metal structures, tables and display boards with concise descriptions in both Italian and English of our showcased offerings. Our comprehensive automation range has expanded considerably. A key advantage is that these automations can be seamlessly integrated into various machines and systems, including those not manufactured by us, without requiring replacements or additional investments.”
“All these functions,” he continued, “can be controlled through JDrum, our proprietary app launched several years ago and continually refined since. It’s the first application of its kind in the tanning sector, enabling remote operation. Among the recently added features is Waterplan, which allows for real-time water quality monitoring for the purification system. This is already operational in some tanneries in the Vicenza district, providing centralized, automated control for the wastewater filtration system, in addition to monitoring the boiler compartment and the vats. For this year’s fair, we also released a significant upgrade to the app, further enhancing it with more comprehensive controls, both at the machinery level and for water and wastewater purification. These enhancements were driven by the specific needs of two of our clients. As a medium-sized company, we pride ourselves on our ability to directly support our customers and ultimately fulfill their specific requests. We’ve had confirmation that remote control has become absolutely essential. When we first introduced it years ago here at the fair in Milan, many did not understand what it was about. Now, most entrepreneurs are adapting to provide this functionality. Advancements in automation and robotics have led to reduced staffing needs, making technological assistance even more critical. This includes real-time alarms and notifications delivered directly to mobile phones or tablets.”
Looking ahead to next year, Pajusco is poised to launch further innovations. “Our entrepreneurial strategy involves continuous innovation,” Storti concluded. “We consistently develop new solutions, which we then proudly present at the Milan fair, where we see a greater influx of international industry professionals compared to other international events. We’re currently working on several other projects, one of which is nearly finalized and undergoing final testing. We plan to launch it at the 2025 edition. It’s a truly groundbreaking development, unique to Pajusco, and will be patented. We’re also designing new systems that we prefer not to anticipate to avoid the risk of them being copied: in this case too, they will be covered by patents.”
