Paper release coating technology has revolutionised material embellishment, establishing a global foothold thanks to increasingly high-performance raw materials, sophisticated coating lines and a vast array of release papers. Among these, coating on synthetic materials stands out. This process involves applying products to paper and then transferring them to microfiber or fabric, achieving superior aesthetic and performance results on both premium and more economical materials. The productivity of this system is remarkable: an 8-hour continuous coating line can produce between 4 and 10 kilometers of synthetic leather daily, with average speeds ranging from 10 to 25 meters per minute. Recognizing the potential for integrating the worlds of leather and synthetics and the growing demand for comprehensive solutions, the Performance Coatings and Finishes division aims to provide exceptional technical and application support to clients, opening doors to new markets and alternative sectors. Fenice’s vast experience in paper release processes on leather is derived from a similar technology, in which Fenice has distinguished itself from the very first experiments for the technological superiority of the solutions proposed: layers of products are applied to protected embossed papers, which, after various passages, are laminated to the leather. At the end of the cycle, the leather is detached from the release paper, inheriting its design and degree of gloss, while the paper can be reused. This technique is fundamental for upgrading the leather, improving the performance and quality of the finished leather. The efficiency of this continuous, industrialized process guarantees competitiveness even at large volumes. The system stands out for its innovative features in every aspect, particularly sustainability: it limits the use of chemicals, reduces waste in the leather selection and cutting stages, and ensures production continuity and product uniformity.
