REPTILIS, the commitment to sustainable tanning

Reptilis

Reptilis, sustainable productivity, traceability and environmental safeguard: the Tuscan company has always been at the forefront in the development and manufacturing of quality products in full compliance with all the safety specifications as well as with the international regulations.

Reptilis

A corporate philosophy that skillfully combines the demand for higher productivity and competitiveness with a marked awareness of the environmental impact of its industrial processes. As a matter of fact, over the last few years, Reptilis has been investing resources and energies in order to foster sustainable tanning – a constant commitment that falls into step with the eco-friendly policy supported by the Tuscan company. An attitude embodied by Reptilis Eco Path, that is, a self-assessment procedure carried out in close partnership with customers and chemicals suppliers.

Reptilis

Reptlis has become the first Italian tannery to be ICEC_TS_SC_410 certified – a marking guaranteeing the origin and traceability applied to Molurus python skins and to ostrich skins for the apparel, footwear and leather goods sectors.

It’s an initiative that, thanks to a thorough data collection and careful monitoring, allows to make a complete inventory and to classify all the products used by the tannery: in this way, it is possible to promptly and effectively remove non-compliant substances and compounds, so as to keep abreast not only of the parameters included in the current specifications and regulations (including the SVHC list – Substances of Very High Concern, constantly updated by REACH), but also of the goals concerning environmental safeguard set to be achieved by 2020.

Reptilis

Headquartered in Santa Croce sull’Arno (Pisa province), right in the heart of Tuscany’s leather district, Reptilis is an internationally renowned all-Italian enterprise, acknowledged as a reference point in the research, development and manufacturing of fine leathers to be used in the apparel, footwear and leatherware sectors. Different types of python skins (Reticulatus, Malurus and Curtus), Karung, Lizard, Ayers, Ostrich, Shark, Kaiman, Niloticus, Elaphe, Hardwicke: said materials, most of them subject to CITES certification, are purchased from trustworthy suppliers, able to guarantee timely deliveries, reliable packaging options and the traceability of hides. With regard to this, Reptlis has become the first Italian tannery to be ICEC_TS_SC_410 certified – a marking guaranteeing the origin and traceability applied to Molurus python skins and to ostrich skins for the apparel, footwear and leather goods industries. Furthermore, hides undergo chemical-physical tests, both incoming and outgoing, before the actual delivery.
