Sapica 81, a successful edition
Sapica 81 A highly strategic business platform, acting as a catalyst for the growth and development of the whole fashion system as well as the ideal showcase for the promotion of Mexican manufacturing and of its values: over the years, Sapica, the International Footwear and Leather Goods Exhibition, has grown into a must-attend event for industry professionals from all over the world.
Ten pavilions that bring together the best of Mexican production, putting on display more than 97,000 items: a top-notch, multi-faceted array of products and services that ranges from shoes collections to bags, leatherware, accessories and apparel lines – a variety that manages to meet all tastes and demands, by providing an ample selection of models, including technical and niche articles for professional use, of materials, styles and designs. The Sapica 81st edition of the trade show took place from August 27th to 30th, 2019, at the Poliforum León: aiming at effectively fostering the quality, competitiveness and creativity of “made in Mexico” worldwide, the organizers arranged an eclectic programme embracing business, knowledge and fashion.
Starting with the growing success of the Knowledge Pavilion, a true Footwear Congress, where experts and professionals can share opinions and insights concerning the most topical issues, thus resulting in thought-provoking contents and innovative concepts: among the participants to the latest edition, a special mention goes to Saúl López Silva from WGSN, who focused on the figure of the hyper-dynamic consumer, and to Gustavo Prado, who highlighted the new trends and challenges awaiting Mexico in 2020. Equally successful the fashion shows held during México es Moda, a special occasion for local designers and brands to launch brand-new collections, putting in the limelight their creativity and glamorous appeal.
Worth mentioning also the initiatives aimed at providing valuable networking opportunities with foreign operators, including the choice of Canada as the Guest country: the ultimate goal is to actively contribute to international success of the Mexican footwear/fashion/leatherware sectors and to arouse the interest of overseas buyers on the lookout for finely crafted, trendy articles featuring a sophisticated design and a competitive price/quality ratio. The next edition of Sapica, focused on the Fall/Winter season, is scheduled from March 3rd to 6th, 2020. www.sapica.com
