Sintex, ennobling as a work of art

A leader in the use of paper for leather finishing, Sintex focuses on research and development to continuously improve the product result

While waiting for other important projects in the drawer to take definitive shape and pass testing, the Sintleather 2.0 system remains the ace up the sleeve of Sintex, a Vicenza company that produces plants for the finishing of leather using sophisticated technologies based on know-how matured in the textile field.
Founded in Brendola in 1996 by the Griffante family, Sintex has always focused on the supply of special machines for resin coating, impregnation and lamination of fabrics and textiles, and on release coating for PVC and Pu. Over the years, the company has expanded its production field towards new leather finishing systems, also stimulated by its proximity to the tanning hub of Arzignano. With attention always dedicated to research and development has led the company to offer customised, innovative and technologically advanced solutions in the leather finishing sector using transfer paper, a product specifically designed to transfer coloured prints onto garments and accessories.
Launched in 2016, Sintleather 2.0 is a latest-generation machine that combines traditional spray technology with transfer coating on release (siliconised) paper in order to develop a full-grain and split leather finishing process. This revolutionary system guarantees the upgrading of low-quality leathers through a processing method that brings about a real recovery process of the material, maintaining its characteristics of softness and naturalness. The machine has been gradually perfected and stands out for its unique performance and cost characteristics, synonymous with high productivity and competitiveness. It also guarantees ease of use, as additional roller coaters can be added for every need, without synchronisation or manoeuvrability problems. A short training is all it takes to start producing autonomously immediately.
The biggest challenge is to make the potential customer understand the advantages of this particular paper finishing system, even if to date the number of active Sintleather 2.0 plants is continuously growing, demonstrating an increasingly strong collaboration between the company and its partners. Consider that with the traditional finishing method, the thickness of the coating layer applied to the leather surface to give it the desired colour, appearance and properties is on average 22/23 microns. Sintleather 2.0 technology is able to respect the natural features of the full grain leather by using a thickness of chemical product that is around 25 microns, therefore absolutely comparable with the previous one, but above all far less invasive compared to the traditional paper system, which with its 80 micron thickness is destined to completely alter the leather, hiding its fibrous structure. Finally, with Sintleather 2.0, only one processing step is required at a speed of 5/10 metres per minute. Of course there is the possibility of using different papers (the roll change is simple and intuitive) with different weight, pattern or glide characteristics.
In short, a product to believe in, with enormous potential for development and growth.
