Teknoleather: strong 2025 financial results, confident about the future

This year, the chemical company based in Arzignano (Vicenza), which primarily serves the leather tanning industry, successfully developed and launched innovative anilines and pigments, further expanding its already diverse product portfolio

Teknoleather of Arzignano (Vicenza), a company specializing in the trade and distribution of chemicals for the tanning sector, has concluded the year with a positive balance sheet. The firm provides state-of-the-art solutions, flexible services, deep industry know-how, and premium chemical products, all designed to ensure the highest possible performance across every stage of the leather processing. In 2025, the company introduced new, innovative anilines and pigments to the market, broadening its diverse existing range and meeting the demands of clients who are increasingly focused on both quality and sustainability. This achievement is the direct result of significant investments made by the ownership and continuous collaboration with the Research & Development departments of its manufacturing partners. These efforts now allow the company to offer the market highly technical, customized, and competitive solutions. Despite a challenging economic environment, Teknoleather has continued to invest strategically, emphasizing innovation as well as environmental and energy sustainability to secure consistently improved performance.
“We have developed new anilines and pigments,” explain owners Santino and Lucrezia Mecenero, “for use in both drum dyeing and finishing processes. These products feature superior resistance to light, PVC, and the Tropical Test. This strategy, which we initiated several years ago, positions us well to meet market needs, particularly the stringent requirements coming from major fashion brands. By adopting advanced methodologies and modern processes, we can guarantee consistent quality and reliability. Sustainability remains a fundamental pillar for us, a core value since the company was founded in 2013. Our focus remains on chemical products and dyes that enable sustainable, innovative, and high-quality tanning, these are Teknoleather’s key strengths.” In 2023, the year of its 10th anniversary, the company achieved Biopreferred certification from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), confirming the biobased content of several products. “This important recognition,” the owners emphasize, “has significantly boosted our international profile. It was a major milestone for us, but also a new starting point: our strategy is dedicated to combining competitiveness with an unwavering focus on the customer and meticulous attention to detail. We chose to be proactive on sustainability, anticipating regulatory changes and leveraging this value as a driver for growth. The most demanding requirements today are being set by high-fashion labels, who demand increasingly thorough inspection of both products and raw materials.”
As is customary, Teknoleather participated in the Simac Tanning Tech and Lineapelle trade shows, one of the sector’s main international events, held from September 17 to 19. “These events,” the owners add, “remain an essential meeting point for everyone in the supply chain. For our domestic clients, our presence was mostly for courtesy visits or casual greetings. Specifically, those operating in the Arzignano district are managed with direct, frequent visits to their respective tanneries or businesses. Nevertheless, in Milan, we met not only clients but also other industry players, allowing us to strengthen relationships and discuss the most pressing issues: sustainability, certifications, and uncertainties related to the global economy, including the impact of tariffs.”
Looking ahead, both to the immediate future and the following years, the company is already developing new products and projects for 2026. “We are working on exciting projects,” Santino and Lucrezia Mecenero conclude, “but we are waiting for the most opportune moment to present them. While maintaining a necessary degree of realism given the ongoing high level of tension, both economic and otherwise, we remain optimistic about a gradual economic recovery. Optimism must be supported by concrete action: investments in innovation, training, and the reinforcement of international relationships. Today, sustainability and traceability are no longer merely added values; they are prerequisites for competition. We sincerely hope that 2026 marks a genuine turnaround.”
