At September’s Simac Tanning Tech, the company based in Vicenza will debut its new, patented DeepSight system, designed to control the uniformity of performance coatings in the leather finishing process. This innovation is set to solve a number of persistent product quality issues.
Todesco’s groundbreaking new system is one of the most exciting innovations to be unveiled at the 2025 edition of Simac Tanning Tech, the leading international trade show for the machinery and technology industries related to tanning, footwear, and leather. The event will take place at Fiera Milano from September 23 to 25. At the international exhibition, which is expected to attract industry professionals from around the world, the company based in Creazzo (Vicenza), located just a few kilometers from the Arzignano tanning district, will launch DeepSight, the latest addition to its product line, which was granted an industrial patent this summer. The state-of-the-art system is set to increase the precision and quality control of finishing natural leathers and synthetic substrates, giving companies a concrete edge in terms of efficiency and waste reduction.
Todesco specializes in creating intelligent finishing lines, and DeepSight is the latest in a series of innovative projects that the company has introduced over the past several years. Even in a challenging year like this one, marked by stagnation, tariffs, and international conflicts that are slowing down investment and consumption, Todesco has been one of the few companies to successfully install complete lines in major international and domestic districts.
DeepSight is the culmination of extensive experience in the field and a dedicated investment in the digitalization of tanning processes. The patent protects exclusive know-how developed entirely in-house by Todesco and represents a significant step toward more controlled, sustainable, and reliable finishing. Designed for seamless integration into existing production lines without the need for costly modifications, the system can monitor the amount of finishing product applied in real time, check the uniformity of the surface film, detect untreated or unevenly treated areas, and identify application defects invisible to the naked eye.
“Thanks to the use of active vision and data analysis systems,” explain Paolo and Giorgio Todesco, “DeepSight can operate with either human supervision or in a fully automated mode. It’s supported by AI algorithms that can process images and generate alerts for non-conformities. This is a practical solution, particularly for the tanning sector, and we will be presenting it exclusively at our stand at the Milan fair (located in Hall 6, booth number H20).”
