From the cosmos and the charm of astronomy, chosen in 2019, to the safeguard of seas and oceans, the latter the leitmotiv of the most recent edition. At Simac Tanning Tech, the international exhibition dedicated to tanning machinery and technologies that took place in Milan in February, OFFICINE DI CARTIGLIANO managed once again to surprise everyone by setting up an elegant stand covering an area of 400 square metres.

Last year, OFFICINE DI CARTIGLIANO celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Moon Landing (1969-2019) and, for the occasion, the corporate booth featured the theme “Cartigliano in the Space”, whereas, for the latest edition, almost in contrast, the firm turned its attention to another topic, that is, the Seas and Oceans surrounding our Earth, as confirmed by the presence of several fish tanks filled with many exotic species. However, at the same time, there were also on display plenty of posters and pictures showing the damages caused by waste, especially plastic ones, often left on beaches or thrown in the sea.

“Since its establishment, our company,” explained Laura Bertacco, managing director, “has always been interested in environment-related issues. For this reason, among the various “missions” pursued, there is also the commitment to promote and support both the tanning industry and the use of leather, a sustainable by-product of the food industry, the first true example of circular economy, unlike plastics. Hence the message we want to convey: through the exploration of the oceans, one can and must understand that the safeguard of the planet can be guaranteed by acting consciously and responsibly in everyday life.”

In the fascinating stand set up by OFFICINE DI CARTIGLIANO, industry professionals had the chance to see first-hand and test the firm’s “top-of-the-range” machinery, the most advanced technologies in terms of environmental sustainability as well, like the staking machine 416 Nero – the state of the art regarding the systems designed to soften leather -, the upgraded Radio Frequency plant, the core of the vacuum dryer “a-CNS” and the EFT sludge dryer.

“The Radio Frequency system,” stated Laura Bertacco, “is undoubtedly the most strategic plant and OFFICINE DI CARTIGLIANO will keep investing in its R&D, because we believe in its remarkable potential, even applied to other industrial sectors, such as the food and environmental divisions. As far as the tanning field is concerned, we have used the Radio Frequency technology both when it comes to crusts drying and to finishing. In addition to a higher leather yield, this technology ensures remarkable benefits time-wise as well as in terms of energy consumption.” <a href=www.cartigliano.com
