Ottogalli, a year in contrast

Despite the pandemic, OTTOGALLI reaped the generous fruits of a strategy that aims at the diversification of markets and products

“It has been a terrific year for us”, says Luca Bertin, Ottogalli Sales Manager, during our visit to the company’s stand at the latest edition of Simac Tanning Tech. “Against the general wave, we are extremely satisfied with our company performance: to date we have recorded an increase in turnover of 70%, we inaugurated two new offices in Colombia and Mexico, and we received satisfaction both in Italy and in Europe in terms of sales of machinery for the footwear and automotive sectors.” With a forward-looking approach, the Venetian company, specialized in the production of injection molding machines for plastic materials for the footwear sector, has heavily invested in the Latin American markets with the opening of two new side-structures (in addition to those already existing in Peru), complete with commercial offices and technical assistance service. In addiction to that and without denying its historical core business, Ottogalli launched an offer diversification strategy by focusing on the automotive sector, for which two important machines result of R&D activities, are already being delivered. “A success due to a series of concomitant factors as well as some luck”, continues Luca Bertin. “Good outcomes certainly result from both a great job in terms of entertaining business relationships and the good name and trustworthiness of our company. In the long run, these factors have let us to regain our market share, previously taken by competitors.”
Machines for the automotive sector embody the utmost expression of technological upgrading, while those for footwear keep the features that made them successful: submerged hydraulic pumps, servo-assisted motors, Wi-Fi connections according to Industry 4.0 and a reduction in energy consumption equal to 60%. “We are very attentive to issues related to sustainable development and environmental protection: our machinery designed for the recovery and transformation of discarded plastic materials into pallets are very interesting in this sense.”
