Escomar, investimenti nel settore software

ESCOMAR, specialized in the production, maintenance and market of new and used machines for tannery, keeps on growing with innovative projects

ESCOMAR, the company based in Arzignano (Vicenza province) and specialized in the production, maintenance and market of new and used tannery machines, looks forward to 2022 with innovative projects. This is ensured by the Sales Manager, Mariano Ferrari, whom we have met twice in the past months, first in September, at the Tanning Tech Show in Milan, then at the end of October, at the ProssimaPelle show, hosted in Arzignano.
“In view of the new year we have been working for several months – explains Ferrari – making great investments in software, designing devices that will let the machines communicate with the management system and with the company MES: we have already installed these systems in several plants in Italy and they are working very well, therefore, when the international market restarts, we believe they can also be successful in other countries. This software is usually required by medium-large tanneries, the more structured ones, where the owner or manager needs to follow the overall situation from the tablet or PC. This system allows to collect weekly, monthly and yearly the data and transforming them into statistics.”
According to Ferrari, another trend is shaping up the tanning sector and will increasingly do so in the future. “At the moment, more in Italy than in Europe, given the growing importance of energy saving, the machines are no longer completely hydraulic but electro-hydraulic. Apart from the pressure which, as in our case, is still managed in the hydraulically, everything else is electric and is managed by an inverter. The latter regulates the energy consumption according to the work of the machine: if leather is loaded, it works in a certain way, on the contrary it reduces consumption. This way, a 15 to 20% energy saving is guaranteed, that is an outstanding figure. As far as I can tell, Italy and Europe are ready to understand this potential, while the rest of the world still prefer hydraulics, as it is considered more reliable.”
The last sentence is a balance sheet of the 2021 edition of the Tanning Tech Show. “We knew that this edition of the fair – concludes ESCOMAR’s Sales Manager – was mainly intended for Italian and European operators, considering that, as expected, overseas countries could not attend. We hope that consumption can resume globally, since every tannery must decide its investment according to a well-defined program. This could happen if we restore that virtuous cycle that characterized the leather sector in the previous century and in the 2000s, way before the slowdown due to the pandemic. In my opinion, the current situation will endure in 2022, perhaps registering an upward trend only in the second half.”
