At the Tanning Tech show in Milan, I-TECH presented the latest innovations for production process efficiency according to a 4.0 sustainability
“We don’t just sell machinery, at the Milan fair, we are presenting an integrated solution for the efficiency of the production process. To prepare leather finishing products intended and designed to ensure a low environmental impact.” These are the words of Andrea Carandini, Sales Director and share- holder of I-TECH, that stood out at the Tanning Tech Exhibition. The company based in Sassuolo (Modena province), has been offering a wide range of technologies in different sectors for more than 20 years, and is becoming increasingly important in the tanning sector with its hardware and software solutions that contribute to the efficiency of its customers’ production process in a 4.0 sustainable key.
Carandini pointed out, “We chose to showcase a cutting-edge system that catches the attention of the customer through the hardware because, at a trade show, it is what you can easily put on display. Once we make contact with customers, our goal is to convey that by choosing our solutions we are able to make their production process more efficient and more sustainable. All this is guaranteed by solutions that have less of an impact in terms of energy consumption and raw materials, but also with a renewed focus on the environment and the working conditions of people. Increasing production efficiency means wasting less and consequently having to dispose fewer materials, thus achieving a lower environmental impact. All these aspects are very clear to us, our keys to proposals and sales.”
“The results of the Fair, were basically positive.” added Bruno Bettelli, President-Ceo and co-founder of I-TECH, “We can say that we fully achieved the different goals we had set, both operational and strategic. Although the turnout over the three days was good overall, there was unfortunately a lack of customers from other parts of the world in addition to Chinese operators. This was due to the geo-political events that we are all aware of, consequently it is not possible to say that we went back to pre-2020 levels. Speaking of the overall trend, this year has been characterized by a number of complex and sometimes overlapping situations. The raw materials shortage, the war in Ukraine, rising inflation and the threat of a probable recession, and rising interest rates are all conditions that prevent stability and confidence in which it is less expensive to run business.”
There is moderate confidence looking ahead to 2023. “In some scenarios,” Bettelli concludes, “the rebalancing of the availability of raw materials is already taking place even if this is not happening in the electronics field. For components, I fear that the difficulties will go on until the most of 2024; I’m more optimistic about iron, steel, aluminum and related stabilization of prices. Especially for companies that produce instrumental machinery, if the tax relief linked to Industry 4.0 incentives ends, there is a risk of a rebound effect, at least in Italy. This means that it is important to keep on investing to diversify the offerings, not only in terms of product range/ solutions, but also in industrial areas and sectors so as to limit the potential damage from excessive specialization and concentration.”
