At the Arpex Textiles plant in Barletta, high-quality products symbolizing craftsmanship excellence are created with thorough attention to detail and sustainable materials, relying on eco-friendly production processes to reduce environmental impact.
Arpex laces and tapes are essential components in contributing to the comfort and functionality of shoes, even those designed for the most extreme uses. In particular, the production of laces for outdoor and work shoes are made of high- performance technical materials that ensure durability, strength and safety. This year at its 45th anniversary, Arpex Textiles is back again at Lineapelle with a range of products designed for all areas of application, full of news designed to highlight every type of footwear.
The latest offerings include twisted laces in different sizes and materials, from the thinnest made with lurex and polyester yarn to the thickest in 100 percent polyester or cotton polyester. “This lace has won over the fashion industry for its ability to create color combinations that are always new and fun,” the company explains, “but it can also be interpreted from a technical point of view.” Arpex handles certified technical items that it tests for compliance to ensure their reliability and durability performance. They are polyester-based and made with thicker, textured weaves that increase stiffness, tear and abrasion resistance, and grip. And because safety also does not shy away from seasonal trends, nylon transparencies, reflex inserts, and iridescent lurex dominate.
The ever-increasing demand for GRS (Global Recycle Standard) certified products has marked the company’s future: recycled, environmentally friendly and 100 percent recyclable PET is capable of offering the market new yarns and thus new environmentally sustainable products with excellent characteristics in terms of quality and performance. “We are trying to include as many items as possible dedicated to sustainable production. For example, to coat the toe cap (the ‘tidbits’ are those dipped in colored dye) we are using only organic transparent films instead of classic acetate.”
