Fainplast, beyond plastic

Fainplast and the world of leather goods: a commitment to sustainability

Fainplast, a leading manufacturer of plastic compounds, is confirmed to be at the forefront of innovation and sustainability. The company, founded in 1993, continues its green path and has been developing solutions in the field of eco-friendly materials for several years. Among the latest innovations conceived by the company, biomaterials stand out, a choice increasingly requested by the market. “We have delved into the use of EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate) copolymers of bio-origin, to reduce the environmental impact of our products,” explains Sales Director Vladimiro Fratini. “Thanks to these biomaterials, we safeguard natural resources and reduce emissions from the footwear industry, while keeping the high performance of our compounds.”
Another important milestone achieved by the company this year is ISCC PLUS certification, always with a view to improving the sustainability of raw materials used in production processes.
“The introduction of bio-based materials into our production has made our supply chain significantly more complex. This is not only an increase in costs, but also a more complex management of the entire supply chain: from material traceability to documentation to logistics. This complexity is something that is often underestimated, but critical to ensuring the sustainability and quality of our products.”
Fainplast is aware of market challenges. “The transition to sustainable materials requires investment and increased management complexity,” Fratini admits. “However, we are convinced that sustainability is the future of the industry and we will keep on investing on this.”
Fainplast is committed to working with key industry players to promote a more sustainable future for the leather goods industry by investing in R&D activities and offering innovative and environmentally friendly solutions.
