The Varese-based company ALETTI confirms its leadership thanks to its high-tech machinery, much appreciated and increasingly demanded in several sectors
“We are currently developing four prototypes in the workshop, two of which are meant for the leather sector.” This is the anticipation of engineer Marco Aletti, chairman of the board of directors of ALETTI GIOVANNI & FIGLI, a leading company boasting a 74-year long experience in the tanning sector (it was founded in 1947). Its machinery is increasingly requested also in other sectors, including those of textiles, microfiber, rubber, cork and synthetic products. Engineer Aletti attended as exhibitor both the Tanning Tech Show in Milan,in the second half of September, and the ProssimaPelle event, held on October 29th, in Arzignano.
“These prototypes – said the chairman Aletti – have already been tested and have responded positively to the project expectations, but after the experiences of the past, before making it official, we are waiting to obtain the patent and then launch them on the market. We are convinced they will have great success, thanks to their highly innovative content. We are specialized in special machines and luckily, we have order also for the first half of 2022. We have always invested great energy and money in research, as we did during the last two years, conditioned by the pandemic. We are confident for the future and, also thanks to the concessions related to Industry 4.0, we will close 2021 with a positive balance.”
On the other hand, external scenarios are worrying, not just economic ones. “To be penalized – he adds – are above all those who export a lot, due to the additional expenses related to travel and transfers, but also to the increase in the costs of raw materials. Another widespread problem that could be even more worrying in the future, as it cannot be solved in a few years, is linked to the lack of skilled and unskilled manpower. Fortunately, in the company we can rely on trained employees, working with us for a long time, but when the generational change will eventually occur, we will face a very serious problem. We are working intensively in the design phase to simplify the processing and assembly of our machines in order to use less and less qualified workers, while maintaining the quality of our products unchanged, cooperating with specialized external suppliers, fortunately operating in our area, for the design of high-tech details.”
“As far as the Milan Fair is concerned – concludes Mr. Aletti – it was important to be there, because we were able to meet with colleagues, exchange opinions after a forcibly long time during which it was not possible to do so. In this way we were able to share the problems that are heavily penalizing the tanning sector and many others. It was essential to restart, even if, also due to some organizational flaws and the expected lower attendance figures, compared to those of the pre-pandemic editions, the results were not completely satisfactory.”
