The official presentation of the Trend Book SS21 took place on January 30th at the CTIC in Alcanena.

(February 19th to 21st, 2020, Hall 9 – stand A04), during which it will showcase the brand-new Trend Book dedicated to the 2021 Spring/Summer season – the book made its official debut on January 30th in Alcanena at the CTIC (the Portuguese Technological Centre for the Leather Industries) and it encompasses the main trends when it comes to nuances, materials, textures, patterns and shapes, with a keen eye for sustainability and environmental safeguard.

Always at the service of the leather industry, APIC relies on its resources and expertise, supporting projects and initiatives aimed at fostering the sector’s growth, even internationally, and at promoting the value of the “made in Portugal” brand. For this reason, on January 30th, the Association organized a workshop at the CTIC related to the “Social & Environmental Reporting 2020” backed up by the European Commission.

Among the main topics dealt with during the meeting, a special mention goes not only to the pivotal role played by certifications, but also to the need to use proper terminology so as to communicate effectively leather’s sustainability and to fight off misinformation and unfounded prejudices.

Approximately 60 people attended the event, mainly industry professionals and students, who showed a lot of interest in the speeches made by the representatives of UNIC (the Italian Tanners’ Association) and ICEC (Institute of Quality Certification specialized in the leather sector), confirming once more the importance of these topics on a global scale. www.apic.com.pt
