The Brazilian Leather project, a sectoral project focused on the internationalization of Brazilian leather conducted by the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB) in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil), brought to Dubai 31 Brazilian companies who were fully satisfied with the fair. According to them, ‘Dubai was a great location and gave the opportunity to meet new importers outside China, getting in touch with people from places that are not traditionally part of the international leather trade’. Also, they confirmed the ‘need to physically meet in person at the fair’.
A convenient location, a great desire to restart, good business from the Middle East and lack of Asian countries. These aspects summarize the moods of Italian entrepreneurs at APLF interviewed following the event, whose massive participation did not go unnoticed. Partly satisfied, partly disappointed, APLF was a must-to-do, an effective signal to restart, but its implications are bittersweet.
