Costruzioni Meccaniche Persico, “We want to set the market”

“We are ambitious, we try to set the market standard, focusing in particular on innovation and research.” With these words Alberto Nieri, CEO of Costruzioni Meccaniche Persico, explained the strategies of the industry of San Giovanni Lupatoto (Verona), specialized in the production of through-feed fleshing machines, which was among the exhibitors in the latest edition of Simac Tanning Tech. “As far as possible – he specified – we do not wait for the customer’s request, we try to anticipate it, suggesting some innovative ideas. We believe that submitting to the market is not a winning but a losing policy. We try to do our best, we are never happy, we are aiming for new goals and for this reason we are raising the bar. We are not satisfied; we always want to do more.”
An example in this sense comes from the fleshing pump, top of its range, which the Veneto-based company presented at its stand. “This product is an intuition of one of our technicians who developed a very technologically advanced system which, through a software, can work with a timer or through a device that turns it on when necessary: this allows the pump to work at minimum necessary pressure, self-regulating without any sensor in the pumping body. It is not patented but we are not worried, because this system is impossible to be understood even for those who had the program in their hands. Once created, we went to one of our customers, who we also met here at the fair, and we let him try it. After trying it he told us “I didn’t think such a machine could exist, I want it.” This pump, which is mechanically built very well and characterized by prestigious materials, is achieving great success on the market and is in great demand. The software is much required as well; this represents another strength of our range and in the future, it can be used in other equipment and sectors, even if we stay focused on our sector, that of the leather.”
The flagship “Flashing Machine” S23, a through-feed fleshing machine equipped with the innovative ACS (Air Control System), namely the touchscreen interface that allows to manage and adjust machine settings quickly and easily, was missing at Costruzioni Meccaniche Persico stand, contrary to what happened for two years in a row: “We did not display the machinery in the stand – Nieri’s explanation – as the entrepreneur who bought it, asked us to start using it in his company: we were a bit sorry, but as company policy we preferred to please the customer, rather than making a good show. In any case, we covered the stand with images of the S23 which stands for our flagship model and that is in great demand both in Italy and abroad.”
The 2023 balance sheet is positive for Costruzioni Meccaniche Persico, which looks to the future with confidence. The move, completed at the beginning of November, to a new headquarters located in the industrial area, in via Fossa Fresca, was a strategic move in this sense: in recent years, the company purchased a space of 20,000 sqm (with therefore the possibility of further expansions in future) and built two warehouses, for a total of over 6,500 m2 of indoor area, divided between offices, production, assembly and stock. The new “home”, spread over an area doubled compared to the previous one, will guarantee Costruzioni Meccaniche Persico improved efficiency, as well as growth in production levels.
