Costruzioni Meccaniche Persico of San Giovanni Lupatoto (Verona) was present as an exhibitor at the Simac Tanning Tech in September in Milan: among the novelties presented an independent machine and an accessory of the continuous fleshing machine.
Being back after more than a year and a half due to the health pandemic. COSTRUZIONI MECCANICHE PERSICO, based in San Giovanni Lupatoto (Verona province) and founded in 1963 by Ezechiele Persico, is ready to get back into the game in a recovering market, aiming at establishing itself as a technology, professionalism and innovation forerunner. The core business of the Venetian company is represented by the through-feed fleshing machines: the first model was produced in 1977, therefore more than 40 years ago; Persico was a precursor, being among the first to sell it locally and internationally. Over the years, this machine has been gradually improved, also in terms of technology and performance.
SIMAC TANNING TECH. At Simac Tanning Tech February 2020 edition (the last international exhibition before the lockdown), the 3.40-meter fleshing machine was in the limelight of the company’s stand. At the September 2021 edition, the same stand will room two important variants of that model: the P22Dynamic and P27Dynamic flesh pumps. The new products still keep the same characteristics of the P22, such as the quality materials and high-end performance, but with some new features. As a matter of fact, the company, after years research, has managed to make significant improvements, achieved thanks to a thorough study of geometries, thus succeeding in reaching goals that will revolutionize the field of fleshing pumps.
THE NEW FEATURES. The new P22 Dynamic and P27 Dynamic are equipped with a “STOP & GO” system which adjusts the operation of the pump based on how much flesh there is in the hopper and on how much pressure is required for it to be pumped out. The new pumps, only work when the hopper is full, and stop automatically when it is empty; the hydraulic pressure is also regulated by the machinery itself, which detects the quantity and density of fleshings in the tube (with a system that also identifies any obstructions of the same), and autonomously calculates the necessary pressure (from 0 to 160 bar) for its ejection from the machine. Moreover, the piston, always by itself, instead of impacting during the final part of the pumping movement, will stop a few millimeters earlier, thus avoiding the collision of the same with the stroke end and the consequent increase in pressure that it would ensue.
ADVANTAGES. This entails many advantages, including a considerable reduction in the wear of the machinery, since the pump parts are exposed to a lower mechanical pressure and a lower level of oil heating; moreover, the hydraulic pressure is controlled and not subject to sudden changes. All of this, obviously, leads to a significant energy saving. Everything is done without the installation of an electronic part on the body of the machine, which could be damaged by water and humid environment; total control of the pump can be easily managed from the detached control unit, equipped not only with manual controls, but also with a cutting-edge touch screen display. The pump does not require any use of water, it allows for oil savings and greater production efficiency.
DIFFERENCES. The main difference between the new P22 Dynamic and the P27 Dynamic only lies in the size: the second is about 10% greater than the first. Obviously, due to a greater displacement and a more performing geometry, the P27 is about 30% more performing. By marketing these two new machines, designed to be highly performing over time, Costruzioni Meccaniche Persico aims at showing their reliability as well as emphasizing how little, occasional maintenance they require (the oil and filter change is estimated every 5000 hours of pumping), right because they are designed to the smallest detail.
