DOGI INTERNATIONAL, Ready for new challenges

DOGI INTERNATIONAL
Based in Chiampo, DOGI INTERNATIONAL confirms its growth rate both nationwide and internationally: an astounding escalation in less than ten years.

A young company, established in 2001, whose roots are deeply tied to more than thirty years of experience in the business and to a well-established know-how. So much so that, in less than a decade, it has been able to gain a strong foothold in the global market, thus succeeding in winning over the trust of leading enterprises as well as of renowned domestic and international brands.

DOGI INTERNATIONAL
This is one of the main reasons behind the success experienced by DOGI INTERNATIONAL, company headquartered in Chiampo (one of the towns based in the Arzignano’s tanning district), whose steady growth will likely lead to a bright, remarkable future. As explained by Giancarlo Domirti, managing director at the helm of firm, the initial core business lied in the finishing and sales of top-quality finished hides featuring peculiar manual techniques. Later on, the enterprise has established itself and specialized in different types of processing methods, some of them patented, that have earned of an elite of customers from all over the world.
In the early years in the business, the Italian company supplied hides to an ample range of sectors – apparel, giftware, denim, accessories, bookbinding and motorcycling; since 2014, it has been increasing the number of articles with the addition of the leatherware and footwear industries, while, at the same time, it has implemented a cutting-edge, hand-finishing system that enhances hides, making them more appealing: a strategic decision made by the corporate management, who chose to give up low-end products and pay close attention to the luxury market, thus shifting from large-scale, volume-oriented production to the values of creativity and manual skills.

“My company,” stated Giancarlo Domirti, “has immediately aimed at producing hides that are entirely craft-made, boasting a top-notch processing technique. For this reason, right from the beginning, our mission has revolved around the steady search for new technologies and the improvement of the price/quality ratio. Our biggest challenge lies in successfully meeting the needs of the fashion industry as well as of the most demanding tanneries, that is, brands and firms that do not settle for standard solutions, but that are constantly on the lookout for something more, for something that stands out. The customers turning to DOGI INTERNATIONAL can rely on a qualified “team”, able to focus exclusively on developing and interpreting articles according to one’s specific needs. This type of attitude results in thorough commitment to research and applications, the latter acknowledged as one of our main strengths, widely praised by the clientele, much to our satisfaction: over the years, our in-house staff has managed to grow and to effectively meet the increasingly demanding market requests.”

With regard to the pivotal role played by leather, even from an historical point of view, here is Giancarlo Domirti’s opinion. “Mankind has achieved process thanks to leather only. Suffice it to say that, in the past, water mills, used to grind flour, were provided with wooden gears that kept breaking down. Not by chance, the first industrial machines were equipped with electric motors and leather belt that made the wheels, gears and pulleys work: there are old pictures and drawings portraying belts, the latter grown into a strategical element for progress and for the industrialization process. Actually, leather has been playing a key role since the dawn of time, as confirmed, for instance, by Romans’ shoes, and it is still part of our lives, since it is a material that is compatible with our body and our lifestyle.”

Focusing back on DOGI INTERNATIONAL’s added values, a special mention goes to its ability to optimize, in the last few years, a leather finishing and upgrading system. “The inventor of the machine,” explained Giancarlo Domirti, “has drawn inspiration from a concept foreign to the leather industry, then applied it to the methods of our sector. Usually, finishing requires the application of coating resins that, during the printing phase, tend to compact fibres, thus affecting the product quality. In our case, we manage to keep leathers soft and smooth to the touch, while providing the perfect solution to cover their flaws. We can carry out plenty of other procedures as well, since we have been at the forefront in the field of foamed finishes, the latter a suitable option for the treatment of hides to be used in the automotive sector: said technique was launched by a German firm, that succeeded in conceiving a specific application, that is, a technology that can ensure the utmost softness and covering capacity. It is an application that requires special attention and skills, that we have made our own, thus proving once again our leadership in the sector.” www.dogiinternational.com
