Fainplast’s Circular economy and European patent

Companies of the plastic industry have been facing the challenge of products more eco-sustainable since years. This is why Fainplast, industry leader in the production of compounds based on PVC and polyolefins, accepted the challenge and and has used its know-how to implement specific ways of extending the life cycle of its products.

Thanks to cutting-edge techniques implemented in collaboration with its customers, the development of “REC” Compounds has allowed the reintegration of a percentage of waste material deriving from the shoe molding process within virgin products. In this way its possible to extend the life cycle of the materials, contributing to waste reduction. The materials that do not pass the strict quality control of EVATECH (expanded and cross-linked EVA) soles production, can therefore be reintroduced, where possible, in the economic cycle, reusing them within a new production cycle.

The “REC” products are products that are completely similar to their virgin products, with chemical-physical characteristics comparable in every aspect. A further boost to the production processes of EVATECH soles comes from the European patent EP18769734.7, filed by Fainplast, whose registration has recently been made official. This is a technological modification to the injectors for the injection molding of shoe soles capable of significantly improving the quality of the finished products.
