Fimec brings together the leather-footwear sector from March 12 - 14, 2024 to present news, knowledge and experiences to visitors from all over the world

The leather-footwear cluster already has a date set for 2024. From March 12 to 14, the largest trade fair for the leather-footwear sector in Latin America will be held at Fenac in Novo Hamburgo, Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil). The 47th Fimec (International Fair of Leather, Chemicals, Components, Machinery and Equipment for Footwear and Tanneries) will bring together the concepts of “Innovation, Technology and Positive Impact in the World”, presenting new products and promoting business between all the sectors in the cluster.
As one of the only trade fairs in the world to bring together the entire leather- footwear industry in one place, visitors will be able to find hundreds of exhibitors launching products, services and solutions for the sector and solutions from production to logistics, covering leather, chemicals, components, machinery, technology and innovation for the sector. “We have very positive expectations for the 47th Fimec, precisely because it will be one of the biggest fairs in the last ten years in terms of exhibition area,” says Marcio Jung, Fenac’s CEO. The organization also highlights that it is working hard to increase national and, above all, international visitation. “The fair will be fully capable of presenting not only raw materials and components, but also a lot of equipment and machinery to develop the leather and footwear industry in the Americas. We have no doubt that the place of professionals in this sector will be in the Fenac pavilions, visiting Fimec,” says Jung. Held by the Brazilian Leather project (an initiative of the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry – CICB – and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency – ApexBrasil), the CICB Sustainability Forum will once again take place at Fimec on March 13. There will presented ideas and innovations for the leather chain from market experts. Another confirmed event is the Fimec Studio, which will bring together consumer trends, behavior and technology. Known as a research environment, visitors will be able to see the results of a study focused on behavior, which guides the creation of products connected to today’s needs. The Concept Factory, on the other hand, will present the reality of the industries, with production lines set up inside the Fenac pavilions, where footwear from partner brands is produced in real time. Thus, visitors will be able to see the applicability of the innovations presented and the technology of the machines on display at Fimec.
Registration is now open and is free of charge for professionals in the sector on the fairs’ website.
