Industry 4.0 and digital manufacturing actively contribute to the success of Formificio Manfredini, cutting-edge last and heel factory whose ultimate goal is customer satisfaction.
The corporate staff
It is a young, dynamic enterprise, able to steadily pursue growth and innovation without losing sight of its roots. Today, Manfredini is a family-run business led by brothers Francesco and Luca, whose corporate philosophy aims at ensuring a sustainable future and that deals with the production of lasts and heels for high-end shoes, as confirmed by the partnerships signed with prominent luxury brands such as Salvatore Ferragamo, Giorgio Armani, Versace, Fratelli Rossetti, Furla, Max Mara, Tory Burch, Mario Valentino, Ralph&Russo, Melluso, Neuos, Albano. The list is still long.
The R&D department, constantly on the lookout for new materials and design options.
Francesco and Luca Manfredini’s background is rooted in the experience handed down for three generations, right from the beginning, when the heel factory was still a small artisan workshop established by their grandfather, Francesco. Their mission is to guarantee to the customers – fashion stylists and shoe factories – a competitive asset, that is, to set up the samples very rapidly, in line with fashion’s hectic pace.
An opportunity that arises thanks to the expertise of the close-knit, in-house team of pattern-makers and designers, to their ability to look for new materials, to give life to brand-new lines and models while working in close contact with the customers, putting at their disposal bespoke technologies and skills tailored to one’s specific needs. CAD/CAM software programmes, scanners and cutting-edge printers: within few hours, lasts and heels samples – pivotal elements when it comes to footwear assembly – are immediately ready for the delivery, while changes are made right on the spot in order to get the definitive model.
The technical department deals with sample-making operations, while the mould division industrializes the articles and production managers monitor the manufacturing cycle, resulting in a daily capacity of, respectively, 15,000 pairs of heels and 300 pairs of lasts. A speed-oriented economy made possible by the qualified personnel as well as by the ongoing technological evolution that, since the beginning of the XXI century, has been shaking up the company, especially since when the new production site based in Casandrino – town in Naples province and beating heart of the footwear sector in Southern Italy – has successfully welcomed the so-called Industry 4.0, leading to a marked time reduction: all the machines are now interconnected and the automatic order management system enhances the service, so as to always guarantee the utmost customer satisfaction, and it strengthens the image of a firm in balance between Italian excellence and international renown.

The quality control centres monitor the making of the product in order to guarantee the full compliance with the excellence standards lying at the core of the corporate policy.
A firm that has chosen to pursue a sustainability-oriented business policy as well. Manfredini, as a matter of fact, leads its daily battle in the name of environmental safeguard by implementing virtuous practices to cut down waste. The operations of recovery, disposal and recycling of plastics used such as ABS, Styrofoam, polyurethane and polyethylene are carried out every day, with a keen not only for profit, but also for the safeguard of the fundamental rights to environment protection and to health. www.formificiomanfredini.it
