Ilario Monterisi, the commercial manager of the Varese (Italy) company, talks about it.
Today’s digital factory looks very different than it did a decade ago. Advances in data and analysis, artificial intelligence and machine learning, and the array of technology vendors on the market allow manufacturers to choose from hundreds of potential technology solutions and applications to improve the way they work. Do you agree on this?
“Yes. Absolutely. The digitalization of manufacturing will bring huge improvements in efficiency, costs and profits in such a short time. In fact, we are focusing our efforts on the development of existing machinery, bringing them to an implementation that would successfully improve their performance. At this latest edition of Simac Tanning Tech, for example, we launched a new splitting machine, the FAV520NET, developed according to AP6 industria 4.0 the now essential criteria of industry 4.0.”
What kind of technological adaptation does it have?
“This version, which is equipped with 4.0 electronics, has the ability to connect to a server and download all the processing parameters directly from there. This is the real evolution of a machine that started as a manual machine but now allows it to be controlled digitally, remotely, with which it is possible to transfer all the working parameters directly to the office and vice versa”.
For its Increase to productivity, thanks to the interconnection of the various production components is therefore a focus for Fratelli Alberti. Have you also made updates on your famous combining machines?
“Yes, we have confirmed a combining machine, the AP6; this too has been updated with a view to 4.0. The AP6 is our most technologically advanced model with truly innovative potential and features that make it the most flexible in the world. Thanks to the new technology, it makes it possible to organize production by programs in an extremely versatile way.”
Can we therefore speak of quality 4.0?
“Yes. Our most important innovation is linked precisely to the concept of industry 4.0 and to the possibility of making even the work of recipes and entering parameters easier. In fact, our new machines make it possible to maximize control over the quality of the work, making it more efficient from many points of view, including that of safety”.
How?
“For example, we have introduced a new skiving table equipped with special leg guards. We have also positioned the motor differently than previous versions and provided it with a new generation of filtration. In this way, the operators will be more protected and will be able to benefit from all that is our work in terms of safety. We thought about what could be truly innovative on the side of the end users”.
