New business opportunities for GSC Group, leading company in the field of tanning chemicals and at the forefront in the processing of hides for the automotive, furnishing and fashion industries.
GSC GROUP keeps growing steadily: headquartered in Montebello Vicentino, in the Arzignano’s leather district, the company develops and manufactures chemicals for different stages of the tanning cycle (acknowledged as an industry leader, both nationwide and internationally), including re-tanning, fatliquoring and finishing. Specialized in the processing of hides for the automotive, furnishing and fashion sectors, the Veneto-based enterprise can rely on state-of-the-art production facilities, covering a surface of 20 thousand square metres, on approximately 200 employees; it also owns renowned brands, some acquired just recently.
During the 2020 edition of Tanning Tech, held in Milan last February, we met Diego Cisco, GSC Group’s Export Sales Director, inside the firm’s elegant and spacious stand. “As far as the exhibition is concerned, our main innovation,” he explained, “lies in the choice to put in the spotlight the brand IKEM, tied to a company we took over last year. It was a challenging, yet highly strategic financial transaction for our group, because IKEM, thanks to its long-standing experience in the sector, deals with two pivotal businesses: drum anilines and a range of flame-retardant articles. In the years to come, this acquisition will result in a change in market shares: IKEM products are known and sold mainly in Italy, this is important for us because, with a widespread network that encompasses almost 60 countries worldwide, we can further strengthen our performances and gain a strong foothold in other areas. In 2019, exports accounted for slightly less than 40% of the corporate turnover, yet prospects are positive and on the rise, considering the concerns caused by the global health emergency that is affecting several countries.”
Over the last few years, the balance between quality and constant, eco-friendly research has also played a key role in GSP GROUP’s fast-paced growth, thus keeping up with the demands of a market on the lookout for innovation and value-added products. “One of our reference sectors is fashion,” stated Diego Cisco, “and this gives us the chance to deal daily with designers and experts, in order to provide our customers with the best solutions. Through the research and development of value-added chemicals, we have been aiming at the manufacturing of eco-friendly, groundbreaking projects, so as to effectively meet the requests of an ever-changing market. The expertise and skills of our team is guaranteed by constant updates and by significant investments in full compliance with environmental sustainability specifications. The goal is to always supply cutting-edge technical solutions.”
