The new TFL Colour Trends Catalogue SS 2024

TFL presents the colour trends for leather garment, footwear, accessories as well as for the upholstery industry

TFL, acknowledged as one of the world’s leading leather chemicals companies, has released its new Colour Trends Catalogue for the season Spring Summer 2024. The colour trends are once again divided into “Wearing” and “Living”, devoting a section to each within the publication. Wearing comprises inspirations and colour trends for garments, footwear and accessories. The Living section features all colours that will decorate the season’s interior designs.
In “Wearing”, we see a celebration of grain elasticity, for pleasurable second skin and aerodynamic effects evoking the idea of speed and anti-ageing finishes made for long lasting functional leathers with a vintage, ripped or stained look, which are still trending year after year.
These key features go together under the concept of sustainability and circular economy. Leather is a beautiful, sustainable and durable material and the choice of using renewable chemicals from the TFL PURE range can make it the preferred material for young consumers who are sensitive towards the environment.
In “Living”, we see how rooms’ layout and communal areas gradually move from their original use and definition, becoming hybrid spaces with multitasking furniture.
For this reason, design focus on the frisson of colour and the leather industry can choose between the classic chrome tanning for faded, clean shades like beige, ivory, grey, and a synthetic-based tanning for white and bright “Instagram” colours such as electric blue or fuchsia.
Nappa and nubuck are both good for the purpose, but with high attention to the lightweight.
