FAV Alberti’s new path

Fratelli Alberti launches 4.0 innovations at Simac Tanning Tech in line with the will of the manufacturer of leather processing machines to establish the renewed corporate image

“We are happy to be back at Simac Tanning Tech, meeting customers live is a crucial aspect that makes the difference,” says Giacomo Capra, Chief Financial Officer of Fratelli Alberti, a family business specialized in the production of beveling, splitting and combining machines for leather processing. This is an important edition for the Varese-based company, an opportunity to inaugurate the restyling of the logo and related image in the eyes of the public. “Through the reinterpretation of the famous FAV brand – with the new orange ‘A’ which symbolically represents, in addition to the name Alberti, the skiving arm – we intend to express the inclination towards change brought about by new energies, without denying over seventy-year history and traditions spent in the name of a well-made product, conceived to satisfy every customer’s need and unquestionably appreciated all over the world. Fratelli Alberti is a company in its third generation aimed at continuing working in the same way, without get stuck in it,” underlines Giacomo Capra. A concept also expressed through the products, in line with Industry 4.0 standards, presented this year at Simac Tanning Tech.
The main protagonist was the AV2 NET electronic skiving machine. The new model, named after the concept of ‘network’ is a 4.0 evolution of the AV2 TEV skiving machine: “The new AV2 NET is very intuitive, set up and certified to be interconnected with 4.0 factories – Giacomo Capra explains – This machine improves the already top performing qualities of the previous model and offers the possibility of transferring data and storing the work programs (whose reading takes place through a barcode scanner), thus guaranteeing consumption optimization, greater speed of execution, lesser predictive maintenance and much more.”
The other big news presented at the fair revolutionizes, from a green point of view, the traditional method of drop or spray lubrication used on the machinery for the processing of tips and counters: “We have patented an air-cooling system, able to reach temperatures down to -20°C, which prevents the glue used on thermoplastic materials from mixing the blade and machine components, avoiding endless maintenance, as well as scraps and material waste.” The air-cooling system can be mounted on skiving machines and on splitters, which will be the next subject to the implementation process in a 4.0 key carried out by Fratelli Alberti.
