For Guido Cami, CEO of Industrie Chimiche Forestali S.p.A, dealing with the design and production of adhesives and technological fabrics, 2022 has been an exciting year. Yet the problems that society has had to face have not been lacking: the increase in energy costs, repercussions on Europe due to the war in Russia and Ukraine, the increase in inflation, the Energy Surcharge – namely the increase in the prices of raw materials. Despite all this, the company, listed on the Euronext Growth Milan market of Borsa Italiana, keeps on proceeding with the wind at its back.
Cami explains how the variety of target markets (technical sports footwear, luxury footwear, high fashion leather goods and packaging) has made it possible to keep turnover high, also thanks to unceasing investments in the development of new cutting-edge product lines and in plant upgrade aimed at safety and productivity. Always with the utmost regard for issues related to the environment and its preservation.
International point of reference in the sector, Industrie Chimiche Forestali S.p.A. achieved revenues of 65.7 million euros in the first 9 months of this year, recording a growth of 19% compared to the same period of 2021. Thanks to intelligent price flexibility, according to inflation, and to the growth of volumes, with particular emphasis on the sectors of packaging, fabrics for technical sports and high-end footwear, and luxury leather goods. The recovery of the automotive market is still weak, while sales of the Morel brand line have increased significantly.
With a corporate Ebitda of 4.8 million euros in the first nine months of 2022 (+12% compared to the first nine months of 2021), the forecasts for the last quarter of the year remain positive and confirm this growth.
In line with its sustainability policy, the company has kept on carrying out R&D activities, proudly launching the new line of eco-sustainable textile products “Ricicli”, intended for the luxury & fashion sector. The production of a photovoltaic system was also completed; this will meet the energy needs of production by covering 30% of the requirement, with significant benefits for the environment and its protection.
