International Leather Weavings srl, which creates unique objects for the fashion sector through the art of weaving, keeps on enlarging by purchasing a new operational headquarters and a new Atom workbench; the company will also be a protagonist at Lineapelle with a renovated stand in a prestigious position
2025 is a year full of news for International Leather Weavings, a company of excellence that creates special hand-made leather goods and footwear customized to the needs of luxury brands based in Fucecchio.
In just a few years, the company, which produces uppers, bags and small leather goods, clothing parts, belts and jewellery, has transformed itself into what it is today, one of the points of reference for the fashion sector. It was 2015 when Leonardo Lami founded International Leather Weavings Shpk, an Albanian company with totally Italian features, ownership and control, born from the experience and know-how of over twenty years that the young Italian entrepreneur had acquired in years during his professional path. Only five years later, the current International Leather Weavings Srl was founded in Tuscany, which, after a short time, acquired 100% of the shares of the “big sister” in Albania, effectively becoming a company with two offices and two production units, where the artisan work of hand-made weaving can still be enhanced.
Today, International Leather Weavings takes another step towards greatness by expanding with a new operational headquarters in Montopoli, in the province of Pisa, equipped with a laboratory, warehouse and showroom: a clear sign of transformation aimed at becoming a protagonist on the Italian and international markets. In line with this ambitious project, the company has also implemented its production channels with the purchase of an innovative automatic Atom bench for the industrial cutting of leather, fabric and any other material necessary for processes and more. In this way, International Leather Weavings will be able to offer an even more varied range to its customers, who can already count on a very wide range: from exclusive weaves to threading, from crochet and macramé to stitching, all strictly ‘handmade’, in line with a tradition that has been rooted in the Florentine countryside since the eighteenth century.
“Each item is handmade using yarns of any composition,” said Leonardo Lami, administrator of the company, based in Fucecchio. “We mainly work with leather, but our expertise and creativity allow us to deal with any natural, artificial, synthetic, eco-sustainable, recyclable textile fiber, in short, any material that can be transformed into yarn.” The raw material is purchased in Italy through a trusted network of suppliers and is then shipped, after the necessary quality control, to Albania where the weaving phase takes place. All import/export operations, in addition to being personally managed by the sole director of both companies, are insured with Chubb, a world leader in international transport policies, in order to ensure the best service to customer in every respect. The Albanian headquarters, much larger and with significant production capacity, is certified Sa 8000:2014 and has already received several Audits from important brands.
Like every year, International Leather Weavings will attend Lineapelle fair, but this edition the company has decided to give its booth a new look, more modern and spacious, which will also offer a reserved area where business can be discussed with potential customers. “The location has also changed – concludes the entrepreneur. In fact, we will move to hall 22 stand T07-U08, right next to the trends area, a prestigious spot which is usually very crowded. This choice, together with the recent purchase of the new Atom machine and the purchase of a new headquarter will certainly be a winning weapon to make all our potential known and establish ourselves more on the market”.
