“We have opened in Santa Croce sull’Arno the world’s most advanced tannery, that is, Nuova Mastrotto, that perfectly falls into step with the Industry 4.0 requirements, featuring complete traceability, from hides’ loading to the end product,” explained Mario Serrini, ITALPROGETTI’s president, when we met him at the 2020 edition of Simac Tanning Tech, held in Milan last February. On that occasion, Serrini outlined the new prospects, according to Italprogetti, for the tanning technology, on display at this prominent trade show “For this edition of the fair,” stated Serrini, “we have showcased an upgraded version of our projects, always in great demand both in Italy and internationally. For example, “the dry product” is on the rise, a trend for the years to come. We are increasingly interested in biodigesters, the latest frontier when it comes to leather processing, in line with a circular economy that requires eco-friendly performances. As confirmed by our corporate history, we have always been investing significant resources in R&D activities; therefore, we are a step ahead compared to the new sustainability-related regulations as well as to market demands, the latter increasingly focused on environmental safeguard. Furthermore, our plants guarantee thorough traceability, from the project management up to delivery of the end product to the customer.”
