During the lockdown, the company based in Arzignano (Vicenza province), committed to the needs of the tanning sector for almost half a century, focused on the development of an exclusive software called “Escomar Skinner” for the remote communication between ESCOMAR machines (of any type or model).

“We are talking about a bi-directional communication system – explains Mariano Ferrari, Escomar Sales Manager – the machine sends production data to a remote computer, while the latter can send instructions to the machine operator via an alert on the touch screen display installed on the same machine. Some of our customers have requested “Escomar Skinner” to implement it with their business software (MES), thus facilitating the completion of the procedures necessary to obtain the benefits of Industry 4.0. The remote computer can read the work data and send instructions, but it cannot modify them, because – for safety reasons – only the operator on the machine can proceed with the operations of the machine itself after confirming receipt to the remote computer”.
This software will be of great interest in the Italian and international market. “Through Skinner – adds Ferrari – the customer is able to monitor on a remote device in any place, the real-time production data of a working machine such as speed and numbers of leathers produced, batch and order. A report can be transferred to a file for the archive, checks and prints. This innovative software is able to connect up to eight ESCOMAR machines in the same plant: it is an agile and intuitive system that can be used by both medium and small tanneries and large industries as well. Moreover, in recent months we have defined an agreement with a big European group. Through a collaboration and synergy, we have developed new technological systems on a machine that has been suitably modified and adapted to carry out certain processes on very high- quality leathers.”
