This is why Lampa is among the first companies in the luxury accessory sector to have achieved the B Corp™ certification and to have legally switched to a Benefit Company in 2020. This goal has been accomplished thanks to the lowering of the environmental impact of the products developed and marketed. Lampa, specialized in the design and manufacture of studs, buttons and accessories for haute couture, has started a closed-circuit production: 4.0 technology minimize waste and consumption, maximizing efficiency and productivity. The plant in equipped with a photovoltaic system meant to optimize energy, while a system manages the recovery and remediation of rainwater to put it back into circulation, reducing general water consumption from 3,000 to 150 cubic meters. Last but not least, Lampa is committed to create benefits for the territory and the community.
As far as materials are concerned, the company led by Mirko and Luca Bertoli uses also recycled products from a short supply chain. In addition to its own processing scraps, it takes advantage of plastics deriving from the recovery of automotive waste (for example the ABS of the dashboard) or the nylon from abandoned fishing nets or old carpets. Bio-based nylon, an entirely renewable raw material created through castor oil polymerization, is instead used for fashion accessories as an effective alternative to the more common petroleum- based plastics.
The commitment to the use of materials deriving from the recycling supply chains has led the company to obtain GRS certification. The Global Recycle Standard is intended to meet the needs of consumers who take into account the sustainability, ethics and fairness of manufacturing companies in their purchasing choices.
