MINUCOOP, A virtuous cooperative
In the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic, Minucoop – one of the most prominent enterprises specialized in the manufacturing of small metal accessories for the fashion industry – is eager to get back on track, strongly committed to its international growth project.
According to popular imagination, “cooperative” is a notion usually associated to a certain historic period; in truth, this is a pretty topical issue, because said concept manages to bring together both the economic aspect and the pursuit of goals that go beyond the pure and simple economic benefit. Minucoop is well aware of this, – an industrial Cooperative based on the principle of prevalent mutuality, in Padua province, whose current structure was implemented at the beginning of the XXI century. “In the early 2000s, we registered a double-digit, progressive growth. At least until the Covid-19 pandemic, a period that has resulted in a slowdown for the whole industry and that has deeply affected our sector,” explained Paolo Destro, chairman, administrative and financial manager since May 2020. The corporate headquarters based in Due Carrare, featuring facilities and plants taking up an overall surface of approximately 17,000 sqm., boasts a workforce of 40 associates/employees as well as a range of highly automated machines, more specifically, 25 mechanical presses and 80 assembly units. “Our annual budget, once approved by the associates, is certified by an auditing firm. A transparency-driven decision, a source of pride for the enterprise and a procedure that supports decision-making as well as management-related processes.” The cooperative enterprise nurtures key values such as trust and confidence, pays close attention to people’s wellbeing and to the territory safeguard, reduces inequality levels. In other words, it manages to make economic relations more human. “Our strength,” stated Paolo Destro, “lies in social commitment, a responsibility resulting in several interesting initiatives: we support a sports club based in Due Carrare as well as various parish events locally.” Hence, Minucoop has been pursuing its mission with commitment and determination. Promptness, customer care, effective orders management, rapid deliveries: “This is one of our key assets,” claimed Paolo Destro. “We are able to process orders very quickly, taking from one to up three/four days, thanks to a well-supplied raw materials warehouse and to efficient, automated machinery. A flexibility that is widely praised and that perfectly combines with the articles’ top-notch quality. We use certified galvanic treatments grounded in social and environmental sustainability. For the most part, we rely on local retailers, but we also deal directly with prominent footwear manufacturers. Our goal is to expand our network abroad, by strengthening and by increasing the contacts both in Europe and worldwide. For this reason, we have chosen to attend the upcoming edition of Lineapelle in September. We want to exhibit new solutions and, most of all, to show that our sector is not giving up. ”
