The firm’s history started mid-XX century, with the production of heels, first wooden models and then plastic ones; in 1988, the sole proprietorship Rasola Francesco Paolo became Miran Srl, an enterprise joined by the children of the Apulian entrepreneur and that, over the years, it has progressively widened its scope of action market-wise, both countrywide and internationally.

We met the owners at the impressive Barletta-based headquarters – a modern facility of 15,000 sqm. – and they underlined the key role played by a family management for a company of such a size. “The artisan element has always been one of the firm’s distinctive traits and, even today, albeit the main source of interest lies in the constant technological search for new materials, human resources are in the limelight. A small/mid-sized enterprise, family-run and with a strong passion for craftsmanship: a thoughtful decision made in order to become the sole partner to customers on the lookout for bespoke accessories and components.

The core of the corporate business revolves around the production of components for both safety and fashion footwear. Over injections on leather and fabrics are one of our flagships: available in one, two, or even three colours, they can also feature the addition of bodkins, air inlets and 3D details. As for inserts, there is a preference for mesh-like elements to ensure maximum breathability; the amazing craft skills are also embodied by microinjections, resulting in the making of labels, either tone on tone or featuring a shiny/matte contrast, and by under injections, suitable for the development of embossed details. One of the latest innovations when it comes to insoles (available in various options, thermoformed, in PU, in PU with gel) lies in the use of a viscoelastic material boasting high resilience levels, chosen for the design of anti-shock, cushioning insoles and to guarantee the utmost comfort. Other articles such as shaped, customizable toe-caps, eyelets in thermoplastic material, bodkins and Velcro hooks, are included in the product portfolio, an ample range of solutions devised for the fashion sector as well, featuring finely-crafted, tailor-made accessories, manufactured with precision and artisan expertise.”

The firm’s trump card is its great production flexibility: by carrying out the whole processing cycle in-house, there are considerable benefits concerning quality, customization, prompt production lead times and the consequent customer satisfaction. The full management of manufacturing operations helps the company establish a relationship based on trust with the clientele, comply with the planned deadlines and provide thorough assistance for all processing phases, from the initial sketch up to the actual making of a unique finished product.

Miran’s strength lies in its comprehensive range of solutions: 2000 customizable articles, more than 100 new items launched every year. After all, those turning to the Barletta-based company are on the lookout for components and details able to strengthen brand identity, technically perfect yet stylish and eye-catching.

In order to pursue this mission, the firm is committed to keeping abreast of market trends, striving to be a step ahead so as to successfully meet the future demands of customers: an attitude embodied by the new Eco&Green line, showcased at last year’s trade shows. Bio-based materials partly replace petrochemical-based raw materials, thus resulting in a low environmental impact without going to the detriment of top-notch technical performances.
