O.M.M. believes in research and innovation, two values fostered in full compliance with health protocols and with a keen eye for the safeguard of the local territory. Its accessories for shoes and leather goods, entirely made in Italy, have been arousing the most prominent international brands’ interest for over 50 years.
Antonio Nerpiti and Giacomo Belleggia, two names strongly tied to the history of O.M.M. Officine Minuterie Metalliche, Italian enterprise specialized in the manufacturing of high-end accessories for a sector, that is, footwear and leatherware fashion, in which the attention to details plays a pivotal role.
Established in 1969 in Montegiorgio, Fermo province, the Marche-based company has been experiencing progressive development and growth over the years, without changing its location – a territory in which O.M.M. strongly believes, as confirmed by the significant investments in future-oriented projects concerning health and education issues as well as the struggle against poverty.
Today, Giorgio Nerpiti and Andrea Belleggia, second generation at the helm of the firm, keep nurturing the value of innovation, by pursuing the right balance between the finest craftsmanship and production process computerization. The drive to excellence, especially in terms of care for details, materials selection and top-notch processing techniques, has helped O.M.M. grow into a renowned, trustworthy enterprise, largely praised by the leading foreign and domestic brands. Since its foundation, the company has been investing in research, a strategic asset in order to keep up its competitiveness even in a difficult period such as the current one. “We steadily develop new articles, new samples,” explained Giorgio Nerpiti, “we try out new materials and new combinations, while keeping a close eye on trends and working together with customers and fashion designers.” Accessories in zamak, kajem, iron, aluminium, made with noble metals like brass and with precious ones such as silver and gold, the result of an ample range of manufacturing processes, especially casting, die casting, precision casting, blanking and CNC (Computer Numerical Control).
O.M.M. cares a lot about the personal, direct relationship with the customers, a thorough attention resulting in a quality service grounded in a comprehensive array of solutions, in the expertise and enthusiasm for the materials and the designs, in the customization and manufacturing speed, in the ability to go beyond its scope of action. O.M.M. is focused, both presently and for the future, on machinery and treatments conceived to reduce environmental impact, to optimize efficiency as well as consumption levels. As in the case, for example, of the first dry tumbling system installed back in 2012, that allows to eliminate thousands of hectolitres of water in the production cycle, or of the full recycling of metal scraps that, otherwise, would go to waste.

A MURAL TO CONSUME AIR POLLUTANTS
There is an initiative that perfectly embodies O.M.M.’s commitment to sustainability and environmental safeguard: the eco-friendly mural painted on the company garden wall on the occasion of the celebrations for the 50th anniversary back in 2019.
The colourful painting, covering a surface of 100 square meters, portrays some unusual animals climbing on the wall, embellished with the accessories designed and manufactured by the Marche-based enterprise. The work of art was created by Marco Filicio Marinangeli and by Giorgia Mascitti (young artists known as Filicio and GOL-D-Mascio) by using the cutting-edge Airlite® technology, the latter patented worldwide. Completely devoid of any hazardous substance, this special paint turns surfaces into natural air purifiers, thus helping reduce the atmosphere pollution rate and make buildings and rooms healthier and cleaner.

FAREWELL TO ANTONIO NERPITI
His presence at the corporate headquarters was a pretty common occurrence, even after his retirement. Antonio Nerpiti, one of the founders of the Montegiorgio-based company O.M.M., died last May at the age of 83 in his adopted city. A man of great talent and brilliance, a representative of the Italian entrepreneurship in the world, Antonio Nerpiti was – according to the heartfelt tributes paid by his son Giorgio as well as of his employees – an old-style gentleman, kind and discreet, yet always active and involved in the social fabric of the community. He passed away quietly, without drawing attention, faithful to his style to the end. His values, ideals and heritage will live on.
