Officine di Cartigliano revolutionized the world of the drying with the new NeroRapido vacuum unit and the crust and finishing radio frequency dryer The constant research and drive towards innovation in the field of leather processing has led Officine di Cartigliano to develop a drying line for crust, able to dry chrome-free leathers (FOC).
The current tanning market is increasingly attentive to the environment not only in the leather processing cycle but also in the energy consumption of the tannery. The new trend is to treat leathers with low environmental impact in tanning / retanning process. FOC leathers, in the drying stages, can reach very low temperatures, which is why we have modified the vacuum circuit. To ensure utmost drying results, the company designed a vacuum unit capable of bringing the leather from atmospheric pressure to a very low Mbar level in 6/7 seconds, thus the leather never reaches the temperature set on the table due to the speed of process.
The low pressure is constant throughout the evaporation process time, so a temperature between 20-25 ° is guaranteed for the entire drying cycle. With the new NeroRapido vacuum dryer Officine di Cartigliano is able to dry the leather in a very short time, bringing it to a humidity between 22-30%, without any non-uniformity. Thanks to this revolution, not only in the system but also in the working method, the consumption of the entire drying cycle is optimized: a vacuum of this type, to produce 100 hides / hour, guarantees an average consumption of about 27-30 Kw / h.
Thanks to the extremely low temperatures it is possible to dry the leathers without reducing the area and thickness of the leather as well as avoiding the migration of chemicals.
The final result is a soft, round and super uniform leather.
