Ottogalli, a brand of Intec, arrives at Simac with important new developments for the latin american market and for the reclaiming of recyclable materials

The story of quality and excellence continues at Simac with the Ottogalli brand of Intec, a Veneto company specialising in the production of plastic injection machines for the footwear industry. A good visitor attendance at the stand with a few more notes of interest compared to the 2022 edition, new contacts to cultivate and old clients looking for innovation and assistance. This is the snapshot taken by Sales Manager Luca Bertin who, like most of the exhibitors present, looks at the market with a sense of hope and optimism despite the complex and uncertain scenarios that lead many investors to remain at the door step waiting to understand the evolution of the economic situation.
“We have been betting on the strongly expanding Latin American market, and we continue to do so,” says Luca Bertin, “directing our plants towards the less sophisticated needs, compared to Europe and Italy in particular, of those countries characterised by a shortage of skilled labour. The South American area is still giving us discrete satisfaction, despite the fact that 2023 was not a year on equal terms with the post-Covid recovery period. We can only look forward to 2024, given the favourable predictions. We are now planting seeds with positive results,” Bertin continued, “even in the plastics recycling machinery sector. We are in the process of consolidating some contacts made with important names in the world of fashion, interested in the recycling of production waste to be used in the production of packaging and transport pallets according to a circular economy model. In short, we try to be flexible and differentiate ourselves from our competitors by focusing on new and innovative technologies.”
Luca Bertin does not give away any details, but big news is just around the corner, and he will be a major player in 2024 at the most important Latin American trade fairs in the sector. “If everything goes as planned, at the beginning of next year we will present a new machine for moulding soles for the footwear industry that will combine three functions in one, replacing three different types of products, from the static machine to the single-colour and two-colour rotary machines. In short, a single plant instead of the three normally required to meet different market needs, installable in the economy of a small space, with the same energy consumption and slightly higher cost than an intermediate machine. A good compromise from all points of view, including labour reduction. Ideal, above all, for those entering the market with the intention of starting a business without having to make large investments.”
Obviously, the role of Ottogalli also continues in the safety sector with the production of machines for boots in PVC and nitrile rubber and for the injection of thermoplastic materials on uppers: “Materials that we consider much more ecological and sustainable than polyurethane as they are more easily recyclable,” says Bertin, “and on the processing of which we are able to offer a highly specialised and qualified support service.”
