The Montebello Vicenza company has purchased a new factory in Arzignano, where part of its activity will be moved.
It is a second facility, equipped with offices, warehouse and depots, the new ‘challenge’ that Pajusco Tecnologie of Montebello Vicentino is launching on the market. At a difficult time from an economic point of view, with consumption struggling to take off and an uncertain international political situation, the Veneto- based industry, which has been producing advanced systems for the tanning sector for over 60 years, in particular automations and drums with relative accessories, has decided to make an important future-oriented investment. Part of the production will be moved to the new premises, located in the industrial area of Arzignano, in via Enrico Fermi, about ten kilometres from the headquarters – which will remain in Montebello, especially for management, administration, technical office, and research & development. The site will be operational from the end of the summer, presumably from the beginning of September: the main phase of the move may take place in the August bank holiday period, also so as not to interrupt the work activity, which in the first half of 2023 was very profitable, with numbers up compared to the same period of the previous year.
“The main advantage,” explains Sales Manager Olimpio Storti, whom we interviewed at the beginning of July, owner of Pajusco Tecnologie together with his brothers Silvio and Giovanni, “is the fact that the facility had housed a business similar to ours until the end of last year, so it already had electrical and hydraulic systems, solar panels and alarm systems, as well as overhead travelling cranes and all the equipment needed to carry out the work cycles, which in particular have expanded and diversified in recent years. This has been an advantage, not only economically, but also in terms of time, because ‘furnishing’ a factory from scratch takes many months, and we are particularly busy at the moment with production and meeting deliveries. The warehouse in Arzignano will house the electrical department and the automation sector, with the initial transfer of the employees of these two sectors, although from the point of view of the workforce we intend to grow in both locations by the end of the year, while at the same time we plan to invest in new machinery. In other words, the activity that will be carried out at the new site will immediately come into its full potential, also due to the fact that our industrial plan foresees the possibility of providing automation, at the moment concentrated on the tannery and the machinery that processes leather, also to other sectors of the industry and not only to tanning. Again, this will be a historic turning point for us, on which we have been reflecting for some years now”.
As has been the case for a number of years now, Pajusco Tecnologie is preparing to play a leading role at the 2023 edition of Tanning Tech, scheduled to take place from 19 to 21 September at the Milan Trade Fair, where important innovations will be presented, in keeping with the Vicenza company’s tradition. “Everything is not yet defined in detail,” Olimpio assures us, “but the intention for this year is to present, at what is one of the most important international exhibitions in the world for the sector, some newly designed filters. One in particular, which we have named Filter Press, used exclusively for limestone, has just been patented, to avoid the risk of it being copied, as we are sure it has innovative features that will appeal to both Italian and foreign entrepreneurs and technicians. These newly developed filters can be connected to the drums in a variety of solutions. At the level of drums, the main success achieved by our company in recent years is linked to the fact that we have been able to create in effect ‘two machines in one’, with higher performance but with undoubted advantages linked to the need for less space but above all lower consumption, a decisive aspect these days.
“At the trade fair in Milan,” adds the Sales Manager, “we will be showcasing another dyeing filter, which features a semi-automatic system and which we have already sold with good overall success, but which we have now converted to fully automatic. The goal is to have at least one prototype on our stand, with the aim of launching it during the show. It is not out of the question that some automation will be presented, while a further patent in the final stages is represented by the automatic closing of a door using wi-fi sensors, which until now has been done mechanically: through our tests and simulations, we have found that this is a big step forward, both in terms of costs but above all in terms of maintenance, which with this innovative system is in fact almost totally reduced. Last but not least, this year’s edition will once again feature the first App in the sector, called JDrum, which has been a great success among the trade, many of whom have already ordered it. As it is an absolute world premiere, we want the system to be perfected as much as possible, without having to make any changes afterwards. It is a strategic, future-oriented product that we prefer to have tested to the limits.
“From Tanning Tech,” concludes Olimpio Storti, “we expect a good success, particularly in this edition, which is highly anticipated by all, and we already have an extensive list of appointments with Italian and foreign operators. We expect a considerable influx, but also great interest in the market innovations, at a time when economic recovery is expected and the ‘top’ companies must continue to invest in launching new products”.
