The harsh lesson of the pandemic has taught us to pay constant attention to stricter hygiene standards. The new prophylaxis-function concept conceived by Prym Fashion is called S.A.F.E. Prym Fashion Italia, part of Prym Fashion, a German multinational leader in the production of press fasteners, has developed a particular treatment featuring an antiviral effect intended to coat all of its metal products with a nickel-free silver finish. The newly developed treatment is carried out after the assembly process and leaves on the cap of the button – one of the areas most exposed to the risk of transmitting infections – an antiviral protective coating that also acts against the new coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 / Covid-19.
Laboratory tests carried out by an independent testing institute have shown 90% efficacy against viruses within two hours and 93% within six hours, even after twenty washes at 40°C. S.A.F.E is available for all jeans buttons, to be sewn and press fasteners, for all types of clothing (work, leisure, etc.), and does not affect their design and customization. Last but not least, the treatment was developed to keep a low environmental impact of the products, according to a corporate strategy oriented towards sustainability.
