The relaunch of TECNOCHIMICA takes place in the name of ecosustainability, in line with the strategies prior to March 2020, when the health pandemic stalled markets and the economy around the world.
Located in Castelfranco di Sotto (Pisa), the company produces and markets chemical auxiliaries for the tanning industry. We contacted Simone Gelli, Managing Director, one of four partners of the Tuscan company (Andrea Bechini, Andrea Fastelli and Leonardo Leonardi are the other associates) to analyze the current status in early 2021.
“We spent a15 month period of lockdown with varied guidance – explains Simone Gelli -, carrying out research on innovative products and proposing new sustainable items in line with environmental protection. In compliance with the Reach Regulation and the philosophy of Tecnochimica, the managers of our research and development laboratories, constantly updated on techniques and regulations, analyzed the various raw materials and treated them with high-tech equipment. Through online communication channels we were able to spread our ideas during the lockdown, stimulating the interest of many people who asked for prototypes.”
Now, one month before the start of summer, the market trend appears to be chaotic and above all uncertain. “The situation – concludes the Managing Director of Tecnochimica – is the following: in Europe you can quite travel, while in many nations like in South America, India, Pakistan and Bangladesh the emergency is still a catastrophe. China recovered already but the regulations in terms of controls and quarantine are strict and make travel convenient only in case of a long- lasting stay. However, at the moment the biggest problem concerns the supply of raw materials -like plastic etc.- whose prices exploded and, despite this, in many cases are delivered with big delays or do not arrive at all.”
