At the latest edition of Simac, STEMMA Srl was one of the protagonists, as it put on display its cutting-edge technologies: PLUS 2, double-ring moulding system for direct injection onto upper of triple-density soles, and RPU®, a system conceived for the production of soles, shoes and boots via a polyurethane spraying process.
Stemma Srl, prominent Veneto-based company specialized in the manufacturing of machinery designed to mould polyurethane articles for the footwear sector, attended the latest edition of Simac Tanning Tech and, once again, its state-of-the-art technologies aroused a lot of interest. “Business meetings and contacts exceeded our expectations,” proudly stated the firm’s owners, Ettore Bordin and Stefano Pellizzari. “In the last few years, our enterprise has been experiencing a period of significant growth, as the innovations and new technologies developed in-house have met with great success.
More and more entrepreneurs and industry professionals have been turning to us, on the lookout for the solutions that we can provide both today and in the near future.” At SIMAC, STEMMA exhibited its most recent innovations, that is, the double-ring moulding system “PLUS2” for the direct injection onto upper of triple-density polyurethane soles and the polyurethane spraying technology RPU®. Visitors had the chance to see firsthand a footwear collection made with STEMMA machinery, to be used in the military, safety, outdoor, casual and sports sector, as well as a plant equipped with a double-ring mould, the latter conceived to manufacture shoes featuring a triple-density sole. Products that fall into step with the latest trends, to which renowned chemical and footwear brands are now paying close attention. Increasingly lightweight, comfortable shoes, with specific shock-absorbing combinations.
As a matter of fact, the PLUS 2 technology aims at widening the range of articles both from an aesthetic and from a functional point of view, with a sole featuring either a TPU or rubber insert and a midsole on two levels: in this case, injected polyurethane fills certain areas of the sole (for example, the cushioning heel) or wraps the upper down to the toe cap. On the other hand, the RPU® polyurethane spray technology, patented by STEMMA, is the most suitable solution for the production of shoes, boots and soles designed for the fashion and outdoor sectors. The low-pressure spraying process manages to guarantee articles standing out for their top-notch mechanical properties, devoid of any moulding flaw (air bubbles), for their thin thicknesses, well-finished details and first-rate quality standards that manage to meet the demands of high-end fashion brands. Last but not least, a special mention goes to another pivotal issue, Industry 4.0.
The cutting-edge machines developed by STEMMA are provided with devices and sensors that allow to manage and to monitor remotely both the system itself and the processing cycle. This results in a more efficient production planning and organization for the firm and in the chance to rely on STEMMA’s remote assistance service, the latter able to ensure prompt maintenance support. A control system that can be implemented on older STEMMA machines as well, thanks to the tax incentives included in the Industry 4.0 programme concerning machinery upgrading operations. STEMMA is always at the forefront when it comes to fulfilling the customers’ needs, providing them not only with innovative, top-quality and reliable technologies, but also with a constant and qualified assistance service, so as to effectively solve all kinds of issues.
