Santori Pellami focuses on quality, innovation and sustainability, investing in the research of new colors and new tanning recipes
On the upcoming winter catwalks by Santori, the colors turmeric and butter will stand out. This is the stylistic choice made by the sector-leading tannery headquartered in the Marche region, that creates top leathers combining high quality and innovative technology for the different uses – from clothing to leather goods, from fashion to safety footwear. Laminates, printed in various grains, metallic, rubberized, nubuck, suede, go beyond the boundaries of trends to meet the needs of a rapidly and ever-evolving market. Obviously, the challenge of today and tomorrow is still that of product and process sustainability. Aiming at obtaining increasingly sustainable leather, the Monte Urano-based company has patented an innovative chrome-free tanning process with a low use of heavy metals. The result is a product with unique and constantly evolving characteristics: Naturella® is a water- repellent leather suitable in particular for outdoor use, it is metal free, biodegradable, compostable. Its sustainability was validated by a PEF compliant Life Cycle Assessment study which made it possible to measure its environmental impacts and subsequently develop effective emissions compensation actions. The sustainability of Naturella® leather also results in its long life cycle, thus postponing the moment in which it becomes waste to be disposed of.
