Developed by a research team aware of fashion trends, the new Schmid collection updates the great wealth of experience and craftsmanship of the company with tireless creativity
“The collaboration with the Brera Academy of Fine Arts continues and has borne its first fruits,” says Valerio Baiardo, CEO of Schmid. “The initiative of entrusting a group of students from the Textile Culture course with the task of reworking our stock inventories according to a creative reuse project that gives new life to the ‘end pieces’ has resulted in design accessories with an extraordinary interpretation, very extreme and powerfully composed, but also reproducible according to an evolved and dynamic craftsmanship. It is no coincidence that we have defined an internship contract with two female students among the most deserving group.” The Made in Italy company specializing in the production of fabrics and semi- finished products for high-end clothing and accessories once again came to the fair with a sample collection rich in textile research and tactile and visual suggestions that are the result of a philosophy open to experimentation and sustainable innovation. Innovations that are not in themselves absolute new products, but which put in place a careful work of revisiting and updating historical creations that have made the company famous and recognizable throughout the world. “We have received praise from all our customers visiting Lineapelle,” concludes Valerio Baiardo, “but we have to wait for feedback from the market, in a difficult economic period characterized by a sharp slowdown in demand for consumer goods in the second half of 2023. Where even luxury is slowing down”.
