Dario Rubbo, owner of the DMS INTERNATIONAL company, is confident about the new year. “The world is slowly awakening“
“In 2022 we will see what the scenarios will be, for the moment positive signals are coming from the East, with slight signs of awakening”. Those are the words of Dario Rubbo, owner of the company DMS, based in Montecchio Maggiore (Vicenza province), whom we met both at the latest edition of the Tanning Tech show in Milan and at ProssimaPelle in Vicenza. Despite the economic and financial stagnation linked to the pandemic, the company, after around ten years, keeps on growing. The firm operates on the Italian and international tanning market with two brands, the DMS ITALIA, offering a wide range of reconditioned used machines, searching machinery and plants for finishing and providing maintenance services, and DMS INTERNATIONAL, founded in 2018 and specialized in the production and sale of finishing machines for tanning
“The international picture – states Rubbo – still remains rather uncertain, even if we got a couple of orders from a specific country in the East, despite the situation in China is still very complicated. The problem is related to travel limitations and quarantines. We have solved these issues by shipping already assembled machines; then, for the start-up phase, we sent the instructions via email, while the last details were given via WhatsApp or videocalls.”
Another problem, certainly more important in the future, is linked to the increase in the raw materials cost. “It is not an easy time – adds the owner of DMS – given that this situation affects the whole world. Customers should understand that according to the increased costs for producers, profit margins are always lower, so it is difficult to make long-term forecasts. We are confident about the new year, also considering that we already registered some orders, but it is difficult to be optimistic given such price increase as well as the shortage of some components, which are currently difficult to find.”
The new year will be full of important news for the company. “We will have some good news – concludes Dario Rubbo – which, however, we cannot disclose now for reasons related to the patents. Sustainability is still a very important topic and from January, 1st, 2022 new laws about that will come into effect in Europe. Thanks to the Industry 4.0 project, in Italy there are great opportunities, but there’s the risk to frustrate everything because of other issues.”
