Natural Side is the Selasti project that has arrived at Lineapelle from the Florentine company that specializes in the production of E.V.A. sheets and soles, through which it intends to offer the market eco- conscious materials for items that perform quite similarly to those of the traditional fossil fuel sources. Three product lines characterized by raw materials of different eco-friendly origins come together under its umbrella.
G Side® is the result of extensive research in collaboration with the University of Pisa and is the first certified compound (according to UNI EN ISO 14021:2016) with up to 65 percent E.V.A. content collected from processing waste. It can be used to make both single-thickness or shaped flat sheets and injection molded soles of different density, hardness and abrasion resistance. The entire Greenside range is available in Milled effect, i.e., with granules of various sizes in contrasting colors, or monochrome in the standard colors of Selasti production.
BioBased™ E.V.A. is the material with ethylene, completely made of biogenic origin (sugar cane). The physical-mechanical characteristics of the expanded products (soles and midsoles) obtained using bio E.V.A. in percentages varying between 62 and 85% are again comparable to those derived solely from fossil fuel sources.
Finally, E.V.A. Bloom® is the product with 20 percent raw material from excess algae from overgrowth. This, added to E.V.A. from fossil fuel sources, results in a material in which the green tone of the aquatic plant predominates, a nuance that influences the usual Selasti color palette with original color variations. Because algae capture and convert carbon dioxide, the use of BLOOM® materials results in a reduction of CO2 and greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.
