Serafini Elixir and Eden, evocative power

Imitation leather, durable, with high mechanical resistance, easy to clean. Obtained through a silicone-based production process, the new Elixir and Eden materials by Serafini are eco-friendly and with very low VOC

Elixir and Eden. These are the evocative names of the most recent innovations coming from the research and development activity of Serafini, headquartered in the Marche region, a leading group in the sector of support materials and adhesive tapes for footwear, leather goods and leather clothing. Two eco- friendly and very low VOC products that recall the aesthetic value of leather, combining a microfiber base and a silicone coating capable of expressing a pleasantly unique sensation to the touch and offering high durability in terms of performance (due to the exclusive solvent-free and fire-resistant surface) and incredible mechanical resistance, as well as to scratches and abrasion, contact with water, aggression from salt, UV rays and chemical agents. Ideal performance for application in various industrial sectors, from fashion accessories to furniture and upholstery, from automotive to shipbuilding and pleasure boating.
Elixir is the line specifically dedicated to the footwear sector, in particular sneakers, safety and healthcare shoes: the microfibre base with a standard thickness of 1.4 mm imitates crust leather 100%. The extreme washability and ease of cleaning of the material is a natural antidote against dirt and microbes. Eden, on the other hand, is the range aimed at the automotive and leather goods market: made of a textile-based microfiber, it gives a softer, nappa-like feel.
“These are very durable products – underlines Marco Serafini – made of a copolymer made up of polyurethane and solid silicone which counteracts wear and hydrolysis. Tests conducted according to the Martindale standard revealed for both abrasion resistance exceeding 50,000 cycles, resulting in a customer guarantee of at least five years. Furthermore, to remove any stains simply wipe with a damp cloth without solvents or alcohol.”
